National EMS Week will get kicked off May 17th – May 23rd. During this week it is the only time that we celebrate the success’, the saves, the people that make up the EMS community. It is necessary to look at this week as a chance for EMS agencies across the nation to pull together in celebration in an effort to fundraise for their favorite charity, and bring together all those who make up the system. I am in talks with people now to make an annual event of a premiere of a movie as a small portion of the event, but make it available across the nation at different theaters. If you are interested in learning how we can put together an event like this in your community contact Thaddeus Setla at contact(at)setlafilms.com or call 248-255-6536

Making this an Annual Event? Could EMS use this as a good PR Tool?

While the buzz of the trailer is out there the movie still has to be good! I am looking forward to getting this together and it is clear to me that there is a need to build positive PR in our industry. This event has sparked a few ideas about National EMS Week and I am throwing this out there for the Chiefs and Managers to think about. If we kicked off every year about this time with a movie from EMS for EMS, which we can begin producing immediately by the way, and hold the viewing of this movie at theaters all over the country, we could generate a lot of great publicity and support from the community. Wghile making the movie needs a budget, the proceeds of each of the premiere’s could generate money for different causes, or help fund other needed services in the community. Each year we can create a movie about a certain area and help promote their part of the country.

If we have 1000 agencies donating $100 each to make the movie, it is very affordable and easy PR every year to attach to. Given the right people in the industry this is a very doable project. Let me know your thoughts!
